Bed, Bath & Beyond, a chain of stores for household linens, lends its appealing name with one minor alteration for use as an exhibition and book title for Dieter Halls pastels. Dieter Hall thereby underscores the mundane necessities of the home - shower curtains, bath towels, blankets, pillows and sheets - wich belong as much to the inventory of the store in the title as to Halls motifs. In his bath- and bedrooms, fabrics and tiles of all hues glow with a sensuality equal in every way to that of the naked bodies of their owners. The sense that Halls pastels could serve as seductive advertisements for that New York supplier is not completely out of place.
