The work of media artist Stephan von Huene (1932–2000) in the field of international sound sculpture is characterized by a rare equality between object and sound.
The combination of sound, language, light, and motion leads to fantastic and figural, but also architectonic and instrumental sound sculptures. This publication offers a deeper insight into Huene’s activity as a “visual scientist” or, as Achatz von Müller expresses it, as a “cognitive magician” and appears on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at the ZKM Karlsruhe.
